HOUSTON -- Watching your children mutton bustin' is even sweeter when your whole rodeo experience is free.

Wednesday was Armed Forces Appreciation Day.

"It's nice we have that support system not just from inside the military but outside as well," said Stephanie McNeely, a military wife.

Her husband is in the National Guard and got the whole family in for free.

"I don't think we could make a trip to Shipley's that this cheap," said Sgt. John McNeely.

Bus loads of soldiers from Fort hood were brought in. They were given a much needed break from the chow hall and a chance to enjoy one of Houston's most popular events.

"I want to see the bull riding and he wants to see the bull riding," said Sgt. Joshua Buxton with his son Izeah. "He's really excited about that."

We all know a day at the rodeo isn't cheap. The Buxton's say without this special offer, they probably would have skipped the trip.

"Not a lot of military families could afford to go to Houston and go see a rodeo concert," said Cintia Buxton. "I mean this is a really awesome experience."

Anyone in active or reserve military and their families can get in. All you need is to wear your uniform and bring military ID.
