LOS ANGELES -- George Lucas and Mellody Hobson are now husband and wife.
The couple wed on Saturday, in Marin County, Calif., the location of the “Star Wars” creator’s Skywalker Ranch, a representative from Lucasfilm Ltd. confirmed to CBSNews.com.
News about the couple’s nuptials spread quickly after a couple of famous guests posted about the wedding on Twitter.
Howard and Jackson weren’t the only well-known guests at the wedding. Van Morrison and Janelle Monae performed at the reception. Steven Spielberg gave a toast, and Francis Ford Coppola read a poem. Former New Jersey Senator Bill Bradley gave away Hobson and also gave a toast at the wedding.
Lucas, 69, has three children: Amanda, Katie and Jett. He was married to film editor Marcia Lucas from 1969- 1983. This is Hobson’s first marriage. News of their engagement surfaced in January.
Hobson, 44, is president of Ariel Investments and also serves as a financial contributor of CBS News.
