DALLAS — A cash craze took over Victory Park Monday evening.

Hundreds of people dashed around the area near the WFAA studio searching for hidden envelopes of cash.

It was all part of a Twitter-based scavenger hunt, and we got a first-hand view at the quest for free money.

Clues were tweeted by @HiddenCashDFW about the locations of 12 envelopes.

A Dallas deputy police chief held one of them. Then — hunters jumped railings, demanding cash from Channel 8 meteorologist Pete Delkus (who told them it was Dale Hansen who had all the money).

In all, $290 was distributed.
