We know famous singers use auto-tune to help them sound better, but we usually don't get to hear what they sound like before the editing.
A new clip of Britney Spears' unedited singing has a lot of people plugging their ears.
The clip of Britney singing "Alien," one of her songs off her most recent album, was leaked and went viral this week.
So William Orbit, the producer of the track, stepped in to defend Britney.
He posted a statement on his Facebook page, saying this track is actually a warm-up session, not the final version of her singing the song.
"Warming up is essential if you’re a pro, as it is with a runner doing stretches, and it takes a while to do properly. I’ve heard all manner of sounds emitted during warmups." Wrote Orbit. "The point is that it is not supposed to be shared with millions of listeners."
He said a "generous singer" helps the sound engineer get their systems ready by singing on the mic, before they're really ready to perform.
He also said that "Britney is and always will be beyond Stellar! She is magnificent! And that's that."
We don't know if this is for sure a warm-up or if it's the real thing, but either way, I feel kind of bad for Brit-Brit here. I'll always love her. And that's that.
