HOUSTON – The traditional “animal walk” as the Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey train arrived in Houston was cancelled after the circus got into town late, organizers said.
About 60 or 70 people lined up east of Reliant Park to see the animals Tuesday night but were later turned away.
KHOU 11 cameras got a sneak peak at some of the elephants as they got off the train, however.
The train’s late arrival caused issues with the officers scheduled to block traffic during the animal walk, which serves as a way to transport the animals from the train to the stadium.
The circus has shows planned in Houston from July 11 to July 28.
