The Texas Conference for Women is once again coming to Houston and this year invites women to "live fearlessly." Now in its 12th year, the Conference is the largest of its kind in the state with more than 6,000 attendess offering a unique opportunity to network, communicate and be inspired. Hosted by Texas First Lady Anita Perry, the Conference will be held on Thursday, November 17 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.
“For more than a decade, I have seen the impact The Texas Conference for Women has on the lives of thousands of Texans. As we approach our 12th annual Conference, I am proud to share our new offerings and keynotes that were chosen specifically for women,” said First Lady Anita Perry. “We are bringing an all-star speaker lineup, Small Business Bootcamp, Heath & Wellness Pavilion, Career Pavilion and ways to connect with your peers through engaging keynote speeches, workshops and panel discussions. We have something exactly for you,” said Perry.
Life coach and O, The Oprah Magazine, columnist Martha Beck, Longhorn sports legend and Hall of Famer Jody Conradt, Emmy Award-winning actress from TV’s “Ugly Betty,” America Ferrera, children’s health care advocate Cindy Hensley McCain and writer and director Lisa Niemi Swayze will be among the dozens of speakers.
This year’s theme, Live Fearlessly!, encourages women to conquer the challenges of their daily life, whether professionally or personally. The Conference offers engaging sessions that cover a vast range of topics including career advancement, personal development, reinvention, social media management, and entrepreneurship.
New to the pre-Conference lineup this year, Tory Johnson will host a Small Business Bootcamp on Wednesday, November 16. Johnson is the CEO of Women For Hire and Spark & Hustle, workplace contributor on “Good Morning America” and New York Times bestselling author. The Small Business Bootcamp is an additional full day of programming designed specifically for current and aspiring small business owners featuring solo presenters, panel discussions, interactive exercises, structured networking and vendor tables.
Magazine is the Conference’s National Media Sponsor and will bring its MORE Style Lounge to the Conference Exhibit Hall. The Conference is partnering with MORE because of both organizations’ commitment to women’s empowerment.
A new Health & Wellness Pavilion will feature companies, organizations and experts focused on the latest advancement in products, services and treatments for your mind and body. Networking opportunities include a Career Pavilion, with community leader “Meet Ups,” a Mentor Match program and one-on-one resume critiques.
Opportunities for attendees to connect via social networks before the Conference are available on the Conference’s new website that features resources to help attendees connect, learn and share. Attendees can experience Conference programming all year long with news articles, testimonials, speaker presentations, videos and photos on our resources page.
Scholarships are available for high school juniors and seniors through the conference’s Young Women’s Program. College students can register for half price.
