HOUSTON – Thousands attended the 2013 Houston/Galveston National Weather Service Hurricane Workshop on Saturday as the hurricane season got underway this weekend.
The KHOU 11 Weather Team was on hand to talk about hurricane forecasts and what people in our area can expect. The workshop, which was held at the George R. Brown Convention Center, is the largest of its kind in the country.
The KHOU 11 Weather Team is even working on new maps to make it easier to understand just how bad a storm surge could get in specific coastal communities.
Chief Meteorologist David Paul said these new storm surge maps will be less complicated and color coded.
