HOUSTON - More than a thousand people walked more than 26 miles in hopes of finding a cure for breast cancer as part of the sixth annual Houston Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
The event kicked off Saturday at Stude Park. Participants logged 13 miles on Sunday.
More than $2 million was raised to provide more access to health care and research to find a cure.
Organizers said that 151 breast cancer survivors also participated in this weekend’s walk.
