HOUSTON – Home Depot on Thursday kicked off a two-month initiative called “Celebration of Service.” Local leaders and volunteers came together to help 10 veterans with free home repairs. About 100 vets around the country are receiving similar help. Councilmember Wanda Adams was among those who turned out to help Army vets like Elma “Joyce” Nelson.
