HOUSTON—Lights, camera, runway! Fashion Houston 2012 brought international style by some of the hottest designers right to our hometown. The event was held at the Wortham Theater November 12 – 15.
Georges Chakra wowed the crowd with his flowy, embellished collection. Just minutes into the show, a model had a bit of a “wardrobe malfunction.” She stepped on her gown exposing some skin. Chakras’ final piece, an ethereal long, white see-through dress, received a standing ovation.
Laurel Berman of Black Halo had very sophisticated pieces for the contemporary working woman. The hit of the night was an adjustable zipper on dresses and skirts. It could go from no slit, to a very high slit, depending on how daring a woman was feeling.
Rabih Kayrouz used a much more structured approach. His line was very rigid and architectural featuring dark colors and heavy fabrics.
By contrast, Lubov Azria of BCBG, lightened things up at the end of the night. Bright, neon colors in exotic patterns ruled the runway.
And that was just the beginning! Check out all the fabulous looks at Fashion Houston and get those wardrobes ready!
