HOUSTON -- George Bush Intercontinental Airport is turning 45 in June, and you’re invited to help celebrate this important milestone.
The airport is holding a family celebration on Saturday, June 7, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the United Airlines Hangar. Free parking is available at 5050 Wright Road and shuttles will leave every five minutes.
Houston Intercontinental Airport, as it was originally known, first opened its doors in June 1969. It was later renamed after the 41st president of the United States, George H. W. Bush and is now the 11th busiest airport in the nation.
The airport offers service to more Mexican destinations than any other U.S. Airport.
