HOUSTON -- Parade-watchers packed the streets Thanksgiving as the 61st Annual H-E-B Holiday Parade kicked off the holiday season.  The 2010 parade, themed "Adventures at Sea," set sail in downtown Houston.

The parade featured a host of musical artists and entertainers; including appearances by Disney star Alyson Stoner, along with Debby Ryan from The Suite Life on Deck and Stephen "tWitch" Boss, the all-star dancer from So You Think You Can Dance.

Houstonians caught a performance by the touring cast of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, presented by Theatre Under the Stars.  Plus, KHOU's own Deborah Duncan, host of Great Day Houston, delighted the crowd with her stellar vocals.

Other highlights included:  Rice Marching Owl Band, Budweiser Clydesdales, Houston Texan Cheerleaders, UCA Cheerleaders, Houston Rocket Power Dancers, Bellville High School Brahmadoras, among others. Local and regional marching bands participated in this year’s parade, including Willowridge High School’s Mighty Eagle March Band and Wings Drill Team, Stephen F. Austin High School Sonic Boom Marching Band, and many other groups.

The Pearland Little League team kicked off the parade and served as the Grand Marshals.  Newly-designed floats, giant helium balloons, along with a 40-ft pirate ship, rolled down the streets on Thanksgiving morning.  Warner Bros.’ Yogi Bear marched along the parade route before Santa Claus and his reindeers arrived to officially kick off the holiday season.
