HOUSTON -- The 2014 Tour de Houston will take place March 16, Houston Mayor Annise Parker announced Thursday.
The annual bike ride, which is in its tenth year, offers Houstonians and visitors a unique way to view the city with routes winding through Houston’s diverse neighborhoods.
The ride also raises funds for the city’s RE-Plant Houston program.
The Tour de Houston begins at Houston's City Hall and offers three ride length options for both leisure riders and cycling enthusiasts.
The Tour de Houston is a BP MS 150 recommended training ride.
The Mayor’s Office of Special Events said it is planning for an estimated 5,000 riders.
