HOUSTON—Harris County health officials on Monday confirmed an outbreak of whooping cough at a northwest Harris County preschool.
Seven cases have been reported in the Adventure Preschool section of the Windwood Christian Academy on Spring Cypress Road.
School is out for the week of Thanksgiving, so health officials said they believe they’ll be able to keep the disease from spreading.
Whooping cough is highly contagious and can be fatal if not treated in time.
