HOUSTON – Community members are coming together to help the family of Kala Golden, the mother who was gunned down in front of a Woodlands-area pediatric center on April 17, 2012.
Hands Across Texas, a local group dedicated to helping people in the Greater Houston area through unforeseen life changes, has set up a fund for baby Keegan Schuchardt’s future needs and for Golden’s funeral expenses.
Hands Across Texas is also hosting a charity barbecue and benefit concert to raise money for Golden’s family at Papa’s Ice House on Pruitt Road in Spring. That event will take place on Sunday, June 10, 2012, starting at 12 p.m.
In addition, another barbecue will be held to help raise money for Golden’s family on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Charles Traylor Park on Rogers Road in Willis.
Barbecue plates will be available there for $7.
There is also a fund set up at the Spirit of Texas Bank off Highway 105 West in Conroe. Donations should be payable to the Schuchardt Family Benefit.
