How can I obtain a copy of a KHOU, Channel 11 news program or broadcast?
Unfortunately, Channel 11 does not provide copies of news programs or broadcasts. If you would like to obtain a copy you can try contacting News Clips For You at 281-248-6523.

You just gave out a number on the air for a particular story. How do I get that number?
If we have a phone number or web site to tell viewers about, we'll generally direct you to a story on our web site by clicking 'On TV' at the top of the page and then clicking Newslinks

Password Questions

I forgot my password or I would like to change it. What do I do? 
To change your password, click on the MemberCenter link located at the top right hand corner of the Web site. When prompted, enter your e-mail address and current password and click on the "Go" button. You will be taken to the MemberCenter homepage. The first section is called "My Account". Click on the "Change Password" link and follow the instructions. Please note that your new password must be 6 characters long.

If you have forgotten your password, click on the Member Center link located at the top right hand corner of the web site. Click on the "Forgot Password" link. You will be prompted to enter your e-mail address. Please enter the e-mail address you used to register on our site. Click "Submit", and a new password will be sent to that e-mail address. To change the automatically generated e-mail, follow the instructions listed above.

What type of content can I find in KHOU.com that I won't find in the television news broadcasts?
KHOU.com's content team constantly updates information and delivers breaking local, national and international news throughout the day. In addition to providing news stories from the television broadcasts, KHOU.com also creates and edits stories specifically for the Internet. The site also incorporates interactive features and services such as video and audio, forums, polls, archives, e-mail newsletters, breaking news alerts, and classified offerings.

What content from the TV broadcasts is not available on KHOU.com?
Due to the sheer volume of content being produced by 11 News on any given day, some content does not make its way onto KHOU.com. For instance, very short stories with few details may not make it onto the site until additional information is available.

How can I locate the information I want on KHOU.com?
To locate a story, section or certain information on KHOU.com, we suggest trying the search box located on the upper left-hand corner of the site. Simply type in keywords for the information you wish to find and the search tool will display matched stories available on KHOU.com.

Our Web site's news and information is continuously updated throughout the day and night. Sometimes browsers "cache" the site for faster downloads, resulting in some users receiving an older version of our site or a page. We suggest clicking on the "refresh" button to display the most recent version of our site. If the "refresh" button does not work, go to your browser tool bar and pull down the "Tools" menu and go to "Internet Options". Then, on the "General" page, under "Temporary Internet files" click "Delete Files." This should allow you to see the most up-to-date version of our Web site.

Technical Questions

Do you provide streaming video on your site?
At KHOU.com, we deliver video content and specific video news stories from KHOU, Channel 11 newscasts. To find streaming video clips, look for a video link and the description of the video clip alongside related articles. For your convenience, we segment full newscast videos into shorter segments for easier and faster downloads.

How do I watch streaming video online?
Video is available on our sites in both Windows Media and Real Player formats. Generally, we use Real Player for some of our archive content. For live feeds broadcast online and more recent news clips, we use Windows Media Player. Windows Media Player is a program provided by Windows and is available for free.

To access this free software, please go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/players.aspx. This link should take you directly to the Windows Media Player download page. Look for the text link that says "Download Windows Media Player 9 Series" - when we checked last, it was at the top of the page under the headline "Get the Latest!". From there, you simply click on the download link and follow their directions.

Windows Media Player is also available for Mac users. Simply use the same link to access the Media Player site. In the middle of the page, near the top, you will see the headline "For Third Party Platforms" - select the appropriate link (matching your Mac version) and download the software by following their directions.
