HOUSTON - Each year for the past decade, KHOU 11 rings in the holidays by collecting toys to benefit those served by The Salvation Army.

This year, KHOU 11 invites you to be a “Secret Santa” to a child in need by donating to our Secret Santa Toy Drive.

Donations of new, unwrapped toys will be accepted through December 19 at the KHOU 11 studio, located at 1945 Allen Parkway, as well as at participating partner locations: Randalls, IHOP, Conn’s and Meineke Car Care Centers

Collectively, there are more than 120 locations in Houston and surrounding areas to make a donation.  Each location will have a giant toy box set up featuring KHOU 11 Meteorologist David Paul.

Since it began in 2001, The Spirit of Texas Toy Drive has grown to become one of Houston’s largest toy collection efforts, generating more than 18,000 gifts for area families in 2010.

Donations collected at KHOU 11 and its partner locations will be distributed through the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program.  For over 120 years, The Salvation Army has provided Christmas assistance for disadvantaged children and seniors in our community.
