Senior Promotion Writer/ Producer
Are you creative, multi-talented and passionate about promotion? Then, we have the job for you. KHOU-TV is looking for a senior promotion writer/producer to join our award-winning staff. This creative wiz will be responsible for producing work that will create a stronger, emotional bond between our station and our viewers/users.
This position calls for a person who is a strategic thinker and a team player. This is a great job for a self-motivated, energetic individual with a can-do attitude. Negative, glass half empty people need not apply. We are looking for a high character person that fits the KHOU 11 brand.
Responsibilities
Conceptualize, write, produce and edit attention grabbing spots and campaigns for news, our digital media platforms, locally produced specials and the station’s community marketing efforts
Write compelling news topicals and special report promos that will motivate viewership
Create topical and image web banners for our web, mobile and social media platforms
Manage the execution of the station’s outside media (radio, cable, outdoor, digital interactive ads)
Effectively utilize social media to promote the station’s key initiatives
Requirements
College degree in Communications or related field
3 or more years experience in news promotion
Exceptional copywriting skills
Strong creative and conceptual thinker
Advanced Avid or Final Cut Pro editing experience
Experience working with Adobe Photoshop and After Effects
Ability to manage budgets for promotional projects.
Knowledge of social media marketing trends
Solid visual and editorial sensibility.
Must be willing to work flexible hours when needed.
The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
