HOUSTON -- Just because you have an older car doesn't mean you can't have the latest in technology playing through your speakers.

The GOGroove FlexSMART X3 is normally a $60 tech toy, but CNET has a coupon code right now that takes off $15 -- making it a nice little gift for anyone who spends a lot of time on the road.

In short, the FlexSMART connects your smartphone’s audio to your car radio without any wires. As long as you have Bluetooth on your smartphone (which you likely do) along with an FM radio in your car (which you likely do), then this will work for you.

You can stream music from iTunes, Spotify, Pandora, etc. through your car’s speakers. The FlexSMART also has a microphone so you can use it as a speakerphone – again, through your car’s speakers.

Buttons on the little gadget make it great for driving because you can feel the volume/track buttons and adjust as necessary without taking your eyes off the road.

While there have been other devices like this before, including older versions of the FlexSMART, this one received high marks from CNET because of its good audio quality. And as far as audio quality goes, you’ll always get the best by connecting your device to your car via hardwire -- if your car supports it.

As a side note: if your car already has Bluetooth -- you may or may not need this. Some Bluetooth vehicle setups only allow for phone calls, while others handle both phone calls and music. Check with your dealer to see what you have and set it up before you buy the FlexSMART.
