HOUSTON -- Year after year, Black Friday leads into Cyber Monday – or “Cyber Monday Week” as some retailers have renamed it. The lines between these savings events may be blurred, but the savings themselves are not.
Here are a few hot tech deals. Get them while they last!
Kindle Fire: Both the HD and the HDX versions of this iPad competitor are $50 off today. The 7-inch version of the HDX is now just $179. Click here for the deal on Amazon.com.
Dyson: Select Dyson product (those expensive vacuum cleaners) are 25 percent off at Newegg.com and Dyson.com. These home-cleaning tools are rarely discounted.
Logitech ear buds: The Ultimate Ears 350 normally cost $60, but DailySteals.com has them for $15 on Cyber Monday.
Nest: The 2nd generation of this popular learning thermostat helps automate the climate in your home and claims to save you on your utility bills. If you buy it for $250 on Amazon.com, you’ll get a $40 Amazon gift card.
Moto X: This Motorola smartphone is powered by Android. They just dropped the off-contract price to $350, or you can sign a two-year contract on Amazon.com and get it for just 99-cents. It’s up to your preference: contract or no contract.
Remember that scammers like to use the words “Cyber Monday” to trick people into falling for a deal that is literally too good to be true. Be careful, and avoid small online retailers that have no phone number for customer service.
Cyber Monday is expected to be the busiest online shopping day of the year. Research firm Comscore expects sales of $2 billion, up from about $1.47 billion last year. Online sales account for about 10 percent of total holiday spending.
