Which Houston pro team will make the playoffs first?
Well, the fact that you are looking at this blog for possibly a second day and the fact that there is new material on it...that is a good sign...It's like a show on television. The early reviews were good so the people want more! At least, that is what I am telling myself for the time being.
Yes, this is the second day of "Daniel Gotera's Sports Fix" right here on KHOU.com. I hope you liked my first entry. But, in case you missed it or any other entries from here on out, you can click on the right hand side to see them. They will all be archived. I don't know if that's a good thing, but hey, we'll go with it until they tell me to take it down.
So...enough of the business...now on to the fun stuff.
The Astros picked up Clint Barmes in a trade with the Colorado Rockies. They sent Felipe Paulino to Denver. Clint Barnes hit .235 last season and to be honest with you, the only reason know I know Clint Barmes is because a couple of years back he fell down and broke his collarbone while carrying some deer meat. That was in 2005 and since that awesome season...he has never been the same. So...moral of the story, keep him away from the venison and we can start printing up World Series 2011 tickets...right?? Right.
In all seriousness...he will be a much needed upgrade at the position...which was a woeful one for the Astros in 2010...especially at the plate...
The high school football playoff kick-off the second round on Friday night and with the pro and college teams (other than Texas Southern) doing so bad...these might be the best sporting events you will see all weekend. You can check out the full schedule by going to the home page.
That reminds me. Here is something that we can have a little fun with. Up at the top you will find a poll. The Texans are well, not going to the playoffs. The Rockets...not looking too good. The Astros...well...the jury is still out. The Dynamo...a year to forget for sure. Who is getting to the playoffs first? Let us know what you think.
Here are some videos for you to enjoy...
Washington Wizards rookie guard put up his first career triple double against the Rockets a couple of weeks back. This is how he enters the court. The #1 pick has some moves for sure.
The dance in the video above is called "The Dougie". I have no idea how to do it, but I would be lying if I said I haven't tried it. It was horrible and I have absolutely no moves. If you want to try it, here is the Cali Swag District to teach you. Don't look at the guy on the right. He too has no clue what in the world is going on.
College football is one day away and for the first time since the 1930's, there will be football being played at historic Wrigley Field. Northwestern and Illinois will play and me being a Wildcat (that's Northwestern), I had to share this with all of you. I am not a fan of the idea, but hey it looks cool. I can say this though...There will finally be a winner that calls Wrigley Field home...yes...that was a shot at the "Loveable Losers"...
