Milder near seventy degree temperatures will get the week started, but the second half of the week will see the mercury fall to near freezing again. Another Canadian air mass will help return Houston to winter time by Thursday evening.The cold front will be preceded by a line of thunderstorms and rain showers Thursday afternoon.The city will pickup on average a half inch to a inch of rain during the day. A few flurries may also fall near the red river valley mid week as the cold air slides under warm moist air. The state is not expecting any accumulations as the air mass will move quickly. Houston is expected to see frosty readings again this weekend. Skies will be sunny but highs may only reach the 50s Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
