Our viewers reported some patchy sleet in the Spring area Sunday afternoon. Doppler confirmed a light return on the radar scope just before our evening newscast. Upper level temperatures above 6000 feet are below freezing supporting the sleet. Other viewer photos show some accumulations on grassy surfaces before most of it melted in the 40 degree readings.

As moisture returns over the cold dome more patchy sleet or light snow could occur overnight in a few spots over southeast Texas. By Monday warm moist air returns with heavier coastal thunder showers possible. Rainfall accumulations are forecast to be between 1.00"-1.50" in a few areas as the afternoon rain presses on towards the coast.

Overnight lows with on shore flow should remain steady with low to mid 40s across the all of southeast. Day time highs will return to normal February levels of the mid 60s. All of the rainy weather clears the area just in time for Valentines Day Tuesday. Happy Valentines Day . . .
