Cool winds are blowing around town. Thanks to the leftover drought of 2010 a high fire danger exists this first weekend of the new year. Extra low humidity combined with high winds will continue until at least 6pm Saturday. As the winds subside tonight and skies clear a winter chill moves in Sunday morning.
Thirty degree readings return to much of the area with near freezing conditions between lake regions of Conroe and Livingston. A light frost will likely impact most of this region briefly Sunday morning since the sun will likely be out again Sunday.
High pressure will mean a sunny start to the new year with winds staying strong along the coast. Small craft advisories are out for the bay and off shore waters until this afternoon. Sunday will likely require wind advisories off shore.
Happy new year from the 11 weather team.
