More rain on Monday's weather planner, but at least it doesn't feel twenty below like it does in the Northeast. Rainfall amounts are already near a half inch this morning in many locations around town.
The rain will be heaviest along the immediate coast as an upper level disturbance and surface low sweep additional moisture into the region all day long. Galveston, Brazoria, and Matagorda counties will likely pick up an inch of rain. Some embedded thunderstorms are likely near these locations as well.
As the low pressure wave continues to move along the frontal boundary . Some wrap around clouds or drizzle will continue tomorrow morning. Rain chances will drop off Tuesday afternoon with a dry Northerly wind flow bringing chilly 30s back down across the Bayou city until Friday morning. Temperature extremes return again as low to mid 30s are not the norm around these parts for late January.
