A full day of sunshine means we will likely finally climb into the 60s today. Some areas of southeast Texas might see the mid 60s. A cold winter weather pattern is taking shape though for the rest of the week. The cold front will drift through Houston late Thursday with cold blustery winds back for the day. Winds will be Northerly with gust to 25mph at times. Readings tonight will be mild by comparison running ten degrees above average.
The chances for rain are minimal as moisture levels will be relatively low in the atmosphere. The frontal position is just North of the metro area Thursday morning as seen in the microcast forecast below. The cities of Bryan, Huntsville and Lufkin will only see highs in the 50s Thursday afternoon.
Winter like numbers near freezing return from Friday through Saturday morning so keep the winter gear ready for another cold weekend. A few light showers also return late in the weekend as onshore flow resumes.
