Lately, we haven't been reporting about activity in the tropics and that's because there hasn't been much to report! We had a quick start to the 2012 tropical season before June 1st but for the past three weeks it's been fairly calm...thankfully!
Now, an area of disturbed weather about 625 miles east-northeast of Bermuda is showing signs of possible formation. This disturbance is moving northeastward at about 10-15 mph. It has a 40% chance of forming in to a tropical storm and if it does form the next name on the list is Ernesto.
There is another area of disturbed weather near Florida--but at this point has a 0% chance of forming into anything.
What does the rest of the season hold.. we'll have to wait and see!
