In an 'average' season, the tropical Atlantic sees one named storm in June and July combined. So far we've had Alex and the 'B' storm has yet to arrive. Remember, the experts at NOAA are still forecasting a VERY busy hurricane season with 14 to 23 (Yikes!)named storms. I'll be VERY interested to see if July heats up and sees another named storm or two... or will the highest number of storms ever forecast in advance of this years season begin to come into question. Personally, I take it one day at a time.
For now, the Atlantic basin is quiet.
