It's been a week since Isaac made landfall in southern Louisiana. Since then, it dumped rain across the Mississippi and Ohio valleys, spawned tornadoes and flooded parts of western Alabama. Now the remnants of that system are drifting back into the Gulf, where they may reform. If that happens, a new storm with a new name would be born.
