The latest reconnaissance from the hurricane hunters is in and a depression has formed in the South central Caribbean. A large cluster of storms has been forming all Thursday morning indicating a broad low pressure center may be taking shape. The hurricane hunters found a large area of 35-45 mph winds in the region probably from these storms. The chances of Matthew forming soon are a real possibility with model tracks still uncertain. A cold front moving into the state of Texas is encouraging and will put us in a safe zone if it pulls all the way into the gulf by Monday as forecast.
The front will bring a fair amount of rain this weekend so stay in touch as we track the storms and very likely Matthew over the weekend.
