Just before 4pm the National Hurricane Center declared the ninth Tropical Storm of the season... Isaac. Still in the open Atlantic Isaac is moving quickly to the west. It's expected to reach hurricane strength by Thursday.
At this point the forecast track has Isaac moving towards southern Florida. However, some forecast models swing it more eastward- so it could be a disruption for Florida but more than likely the Bahamas.
The good news- we'll be able to watch this all week and give you plenty of updates.
