Weather Blog: Time to Watch the Bayous

Here we go again, another round of very heavy thunderstorms is pounding the region with a flash flood watch until 4pm today. The Harris county area has had over a months worth of rain in less than a week. The wettest region are the Northwest with over 11" of rain. The bayous and creeks to watch are Cypress, Buffalo Bayou, Spring Creek, and Sims Creek on the East side. These watersheds have had as much as 6" to 11" of rain this past week. Outside of the metro area Waller county, Montgomery, and Matagorda county have all picked up generous amounts of rain in the last 24hrs causing flash flooding. Matagorda Bay saw 11" of rain from training echoes on Wednesday and Prairie View in Waller county also saw some flooding.
