A magnitude 8.6 earthquake hit off the coast of Sumatra this morning.  They continue to feel strong aftershocks in the '8' magnitude range over the past few hours.  Will there be a Tsunami?  The quake is in the same region as the big 2004 quake that killed 200,000+ people.  However, this quake has not produced a Tsunami so far.  The reason is that this quake apparently moved horizontally.  The 2004 quake moved vertically and lifted the ocean above it, creating the Tsunami.  We'll continue to monitor throughout the day.
