Over an inch rain fell on the West side of Houston Sunday. The heaviest rain since 1.69" fell at Bush on January 29, 2010.
A cool front help set off a few heavy thunderstorms causing street flooding on the highway 1960 and Ella intersection Sunday evening. The front and upper level cyclonic circulation will continue to enhance the rainfall possibility until Monday morning. You may want to get a head start Monday morning on your commute to work or school.
Rainfall will slowly diminish Monday as cooler drier air pushes into the region Monday afternoon.
A weak disturbance will enhance rain chances Tuesday mainly along the southern portions of the state. The wave will gradually shear out as it moves into the South Texas.region. That means the upper gulf coast area will likely see more clouds than rain Tuesday.
Another stronger low pressure system will keep the rain alive Thursday evening through Friday for the Houston-Galveston area.
