No major tropical treats to the mainland United States except for a few isolated tornados from the remnants of Isaac. A couple of tornadoes did spin down from some thunderstorms along the upper Mississippi valley on Saturday. Today flash flooding will be the main threat as the residual moisture from Isaac pushes towards the Ohio valley. As much as 3' - 5" could fall in some areas by the end of the day. The remnants of Isaac have merged with a frontal boundary that will meander towards New England and the mid-Atlantic states by Labor Day.
Elsewhere in the tropics tropical storm Leslie continues to struggle with shear hindering it's development into a hurricane. By the time it moves into a more favorable environment, it will turn more northerly away from the US.
