Not enough rainfall this weekend to help out the deficit. Our rainfall so far for this year is 37.86". Our average is 38.39", giving us a deficit of just over an inch. Bush only reported under a .10 of inch of rain on Sunday. Pockets of heavy rain did manage to fall on parts of our viewing area. The Mongomery county area and Northern Harris county flood gauges reported 1" - 2" of much need rainfall Sunday morning.
The storms Sunday eventually swept through the metro area early in the afternoon. The western suburbs reported anywhere from 1.00 in Katy to a .50" in the Heights. The downtown and southeastern metro areas of Houston barely picked up a ,10" of rain. Houston will get another opportunity for much needed rainfall Wednesday evening and Thursday morning as a stronger cold front moves through. But with limited moisture, rainfall estimates are expected to be meager at best.
