I did not water my lawn the past two days and it's drying up fast. The little grass blades are trying to go 'dormant' to protect itself from the dry conditions... but that only works for so long before it either gets water, or dies. I'm banking on getting some water from the sky today, or tomorrow, or Friday. The best rain chance will probably be on Thursday so the grass may need to stay dormant for another day. But hopefully the scattered thunder showers will grace my, and your lawn, with some much needed rain this week.. We've had a wet spring, thank goodness!! But for the past 5 weeks or so not much rain has fallen. The latest 'Drought Monitor' still has southeast Texas out of drought, but moving back in to abnormally dry conditions. http://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/DM_state.htm?TX,S One benefit from the dry... the poison ivy that loves to grow in the wet has all but shriveled up and died. At least until the next rain comes.
