Not only will you need your umbrella the next few days, but you'll also need to keep it from turning inside-out due to gusty easterly winds. Low pressure sliding up along the coast will keep the winds steady through tomorrow afternoon and that means higher than normal tides tonight. A coastal flood warning is in effect from the Bolivar Peninsula down to Port O'Connor. That means that tides could rise 2 to 4 feet as the Gulf of Mexico comes inland. Here's a breakdown of some of the high tide times and heights expected through Thursday:

Additional high tide locations and times:
Morgan's Point: Wed- 10:45 PM, 2.7 ft, Thu-2:55 PM, 3.5 ft
Galveston Channel: Wed-7:08 PM, 2.3 ft, Thu-9:47 AM, 3.3 ft
Galveston Pleasure Pier: Wed-6:26 PM, 3.3 ft, Thu-8:36 AM, 3.8 ft
Freeport: Wed-6:06 PM, 2.8 ft, Thu-8:34 AM, 3.8 ft
Port O'Connor: Wed-6:35 PM, 3.0 ft, Thu-6:17 PM, 1.5 ft
Watch for water on the road in Highway 87 on the Bolivar Peninsula, the Blue Water Highway and the West End of Galveston Island and in Kemah on Toddville Rd. and Red Bluff Rd. between Bay Area Blvd. and Highway 146.
The rain continues inland across the Greater Houston area tonight through Thursday afternoon. Again, the rain comes in waves with the heaviest expected tonight through Thursday morning. Since it is coming in waves, I'm not too concerned about anything other than ponding of roadways and minor feeder road flooding possible.
