A very dry May so far with less than an inch of rain for the entire month. The best chance for a little relief will come when a weak cold front pushes into Houston Thursday night. The front will likely not make it much past the Island so any significant break in the heat for the first weekend in June is short lived.
Tropical Depression Beryl on the other hand is really making a big difference in the drought from Florida to the Carolinas. More heavy rain will drench the area Tuesday and exit the region Wednesday night. Rainfall amounts of 2" - 4" were very common during the long holiday weekend as Beryl came ashore.
