Yes, we're going to hit another record high today, 105 or so. But the big news is that computer models continue to indicate that rain, and lots of it, will come to southeast Texas beginning on Thursday and last through the weekend. It's moisture from the tropics that will provide the rain that may total 3-5 inches in some spots by Sunday. That would put a significant dent in the drought conditions and help with everything from water rationing to cooler temps.
This has been the hottest August ever recorded in Houston, and the driest. How fitting would it be to have the drought busted beginning on September 1st, Thursday! Some longer range models call for more rain mid September and a couple of cool fronts as well. Hang in there!!!!
