Labor Day Weekend marks the unofficial end of summer. Of course, here in Houston, summer lasts until that first real good cold front. Think October. It could be your last chance to head to the beach or hit the lakes. And of course...there's football. I'm watching a weak disturbance in the western Gulf that has the chance of sparking morning showers along the coast which should scatter inland through the day Saturday. That could be the soggier of the two weekend days, depending on where the rains set up. Once that moves inland, it'll just be hot and humid with only stray shower chances for Sunday and Monday. Here's some specific forecasts for outdoor activities you may have planned:


The Cougars of the University of Houston kick off their final Conference USA season at home at Robertson against Texas State. There may be a few showers ending as tailgaters arrive, but it'll mainly be very warm and humid:
