The slow moving low pressure system finally is on the move this morning and we may be able to salvage the weekend for some fun in the outdoors like we did during Memorial Day, The problem is we need more rain. The drought index is still showing abnormally dry conditions in spite of the rain this week. A few storms may pop up today but mainly to the East of Houston on the West side of the retreating low in southern Louisiana.
Summer time readings take over as a ridge replaces the wet low over the upper Gulf coast region this weekend. One hundred degree temperatures will be common across the western portion of the state. Find a nice neighborhood pool or take a dip in Galveston Bay this weekend as the temperatures will return to the mid 90s.
