Much more rain fell over the weekend especially in a few spots on the North side and around Sugarland. Also so far July has been one of the soggiest months on record with almost a foot of rain falling around town. Typically we only have a couple of inches to deal with in July. Mother nature has made up for last years drought in a major way.

Hard to believe the drought status a year ago was moderate to severe with extreme levels in areas that now have had 12" - 18" of rain in the last few months. Some farmers have had a little too much of a good thing spoiling some of the sorghum crops used as cattle feed.

Another upper level disturbance works its way into the gulf Tuesday evening setting us up for more rain midweek through at least Thursday afternoon. This flow of tropical moisture continues unabated, causing some flash flooding around Southeast Texas just like in early July. Grab a bucket and start bailing !
