The record high for today in Houston is 101F set back in 1902.  That record looks safe for today with highs in the mid 90's area wide.  However, it is very humid and heat index values will be between 101 and 106.  Drink water, take breaks, wear loose fitting light colored clothes and check on each other as the heat continues this week.  There is a rain chance today of 20%.

Oh, I almost forgot... today is the summer solstice.  This is the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere and is the official 'calendar' start to summer.  After today, the days start to get a little shorter each day.
