Most of the week has been hot and steamy with highs in the upper 90s. Thanks to a few afternoon showers just enough moisture fell to push out heat index values beyond 108 degrees. As a result a heat advisory has been issued for all of our viewing area until 8pm Sunday. The readings should feel like 106 - 112 during the hottest portion of the day.
Actual air temperatures will reach near 100 degrees to the North of Houston with mid to upper 90s for the rest of the gulf coast. These readings will persist at least until the remnants of tropical depression #5 return to quench some of the heat Wednesday and Thursday.
