There is a better rain chance today. Atmospheric moisture is a little bit deeper than the past few days so a 30-40% coverage of rain and thunderstorms is expected. Already have a few showers going in the near shore waters and a few have crept into Chambers and Liberty county.
Convective temps (the temperature at which storms will begin to form) are in the low to mid 90's today and we will be reaching those temps late morning to early afternoon on our way to a high of 98.
