Some drought relief is in the pipeline. Mother nature will open the spigot all weekend, but especially overnight and Sunday morning as an upper level disturbance swings through. A severe drought region just North of Houston will be seeing the heaviest rain over the next 24hrs. The latest model output shifts the heaviest rain over the Brazos and San Jacinto water sheds. Good news for anyone that will be using that water later this spring and summer. Bring on the rain, just no flooding please.
Rainfall amounts will vary from a quarter inch in Galveston to over an inch and half near Bryan to Brenham to Huntsville. Stay tuned to changes in the weather all weekend as flash flooding could develop in these soggy areas.
