Been reaching for that blanket lately? Hang on to it for a few more nights as a Canadian high pressure ridge will keep pumping down more cold air for the next couple of nights. Areas of the state like Corpus Christi and Victoria which have not experienced a freeze this Winter are under a freeze warning.

The gulf coast is also in for another treat--no rainfall in our 7-Day forecast. I know that's hard to believe given the wet start to 2013. Cities like Galveston have recovered nicely from the drought of last year. The Galveston area has almost a 5" surplus, while Houston has an extra 1" - 2" in its rain gauge this year.

The next major cold front just clips southeast Texas on Monday night. Areas East of the Mississippi valley take on the brunt of the next cold Arctic blast with overnights once again dropping into the 20s and 30s Tuesday morning.
