After a couple of weeks of rough seas due to tropical weather activity in the Western Gulf the weather is finally improving. The oil will tend to track more North to Northeast as winds shift around a high pressure ridge in the gulf.
The nice weather conditions will persist for at least a week as a broad ridge holds through the weekend. Several hundred oil skimmers will go into action to capture the higher oil output into the Gulf.
The tropics are also much quieter than in previous days with a tropical wave impacting Nicaragua with heavy rain Saturday.
