A heavier line of showers is indicated by our microcast forecast early Sunday morning. The storms will pass just South of the metro area soaking Wharton, Jackson, Matagorda, and Calhoun counties. Rainfall amounts could be more generous long the highway 59 corridor by Sunday.
Rainfall estimates fall short of last weekends two day totals but Matagorda county will average just under an inch of rain by Sunday morning. Lighter amounts are expected in Houston over the holiday weekend.
A low pressure system will form in a favored location for making rain puddles across the Texas gulf coast. A surface low will track slowly across the Southern portions of the state all weekend. Keep the rain gear out as rain will hang around through Sunday afternoon.
Follow us on channel 11 all weekend as we track this storm pattern over the state.
